Photography
My journey into photography began with a simple fascination—capturing the beauty of nature through my lens. What started as casual birdwatching soon transformed into a passion, evolving from photographing birds to exploring architectural patterns, sweeping landscapes, and minimalist compositions. Over time, I developed an eye for aesthetics, simplicity, and the harmony of natural and man-made designs. Photography has taught me to slow down, observe the world more mindfully, and appreciate both the grand and the subtle details that often go unnoticed.
Though my camera gear is modest, I’ve learned that great photography isn’t about having the most expensive equipment—it’s about patience, timing, and truly understanding your subject. My entry-level equipment—it’s about patience, timing, and truly understanding your subject. My entry-level Nikon D3300, paired with the, paired with the versatile versatile Nikkor 200-500mm beginner wildlife lens, has been my companion in this journey. It has reinforced the idea beginner wildlife lens, has been my companion in this journey.
Capturing the perfect moment isn’t about gear—it’s about vision, persistence, and being ready when the right opportunity presents itself.
Here are some of my favorite photographs.
Birds

Spotted this charming Indian white-eye from my balcony. While foraging for food, it hopped nimbly between branches searching for food. In a delightful moment, it landed on a thin twig that couldn't quite support its weight - instead of panicking, the little acrobat gracefully flipped upside down, turning what could have been an awkward stumble into an elegant maneuver. I was fortunate to have my camera ready to capture this playful display of avian agility. A rare sighting, for sure.

This little Purple Sunbird was hovering like a hummingbird as it sipped morning dew drops from leaves. The way it maintained perfectly steady flight while moving from leaf to leaf was mesmerizing, its wings beating rapidly to keep it suspended in mid-air like a tiny helicopter, displaying natural aerobatics.

Tailor Bird hanging out on my balcony.

This Asian Green Bee-eater put on an impressive show, almost like it was performing for my camera. With perfect timing, it swooped down and caught a bee in mid-air. Then, it landed on a nearby branch and enjoyed its well-earned meal.

A pair of White-naped Woodpeckers—a male and a female—worked together in perfect sync, tapping as they searched for insects under the bark. These fast-moving birds are tricky to photograph since they dart up and around tree trunks, so capturing them both in one frame was a rare moment. The photo highlights their unique features, with the male’s bright red crest standing out against the female’s more subtle colors.

Landscapes and Architecture

Took a trip to Melukote with friends. We woke up early for a morning walk and stepped out into the soft blue light of dawn. The sun had just begun to warm the farmland, and a thin mist floated over the ground. Standing at the edge of a field, we watched as dark silhouettes of trees contrasted against the brightening sky. So peaceful! – Melukote, India.
